Scripture Text: Proverbs 9:10-12
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.
Proverbs 9:10
How long do you want to live here on earth? Maybe our answer is, "at the right old age is enough." Then, what age is enough? According to the psalmist, 80 years is enough if we have the strength. But in our time today, it may or may not be possible because of our wrong way of living.
We have polluted the environment, lots of garbage—our generation is fast changing that is why there are lots of effects on us. In our days where technology is increasing, our health is also affected. We need wisdom to choose our food intake, we need wisdom which vitamins to take, we need wisdom to manage our time for our job, health, and every habit we have.
Proverbs offer wisdom to reward us to achieve many years that will be added to our life. The Lord wants us to enjoy life here on earth if we take His advice and ways of living right before the eyes of the Lord. He wants us to live life to the fullest and the secret is to be wise with His godly wisdom.
I remember Moses when he wrote a prayer in Psalm 90, he asked God to teach him how to numbered his days because Moses died in his old age and satisfied with the things and experiences he received from God. Psalm 90:12-15 says, "Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. Relent, Lord! How long will it be? Have compassion on your servants. Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days. Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us, for as many years as we have seen trouble."
Again, if we want to live a long life, we must get wisdom from God. We need to meditate on His words as food for our spirit as Moses was satisfied in the morning with God's unfailing love. He sings joy in his heart because the Lord was in his side to guide him and also protect the whole Israelites in there troubles. Today, we also receive the unfailing love of God in us. As Christians, we must appreciate God in our day to day experience because of His wisdom. We are rejoicing even in the midst of trials and troubles. We have the wisdom of God in our side to calm us, protect us, and satisfy us in the coming days of our lives.
Thanks to God, we have favor from the Lord who gave us godly wisdom. So Christians, fear the Lord because it is the beginning of wisdom; acknowledge the Holy one.

Remember
We will be wise if we acquire wisdom from God. We will know how to please God in all aspects of life. Be wise and wisdom will reward us.
