I Can Get Satisfaction from God

Scripture Text: Ecclesiastes 8:15

And I commend joy, for man has nothing better under the sun but to eat and drink and be joyful, for this will go with him in his toil through the days of his life that God has given him under the sun.

Ecclesiastes 8:15

At last, the author of Ecclesiastes commend joy, to enjoy life by eating, drinking, and by being glad. God provides food and water to drink, there are many fruit juices to mix for people to enjoy to drink, so we can enjoy drinking without being intoxicated. It is wiser not to drink wine, and the author is not recommending cheering yourself with wine, because wine leads to debauchery. It could corrupt your purity. We also can enjoy the things God has given us like land or field to cultivate, material things like houses, properties, collections of paintings, or your love for travel without neglecting God in your heart.

1 Corinthians 10:31 says, "so whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." In other words, thank God for everything that we accumulate, be content in them. We live in this life and we believe in the shortness of our existence to live. In that shortness, we must enjoy life here on earth. God gave us our own family to enjoy including our brothers and sisters in Christ. Even if we are living in these last days full of uncertainty, the Lord provides us peace and joy in our journey.

Remember, God is always watching us. The author takes some break in searching for what life is all about. He takes a break to enjoy the presence of God in his life, that even if he saw a negative things, the Lord also showed him the goodness of God in his life. God provides for us to see the beauty of the world and the beauty of God.

So Christians, we must be thankful and let us appreciate the goodness of God to us. God gives us everything to satisfy us.

Reflect

1. Are you satisfied in what you have?

2. Are you glad you have material things?

3. What more do you want to have? Pray for it.

Remember

God provides joy to those who pleases Him. God gives wisdom, happiness, and pleasure to man for his enjoyment of this life.
