Scripture Text: Ecclesiastes 11:7-9
Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth. Walk in the ways of your heart and the sight of your eyes. But know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.
Ecclesiastes 11:7-9
I love paintings, especially the works of Fernando Amorsolo. He was known as the Master of Light because of the beautiful highlights he created in his paintings. In painting, light is a very important factor to capture attention and for us to gaze upon the brilliant highlights of a particular work of art. The sun, as a source of light, is pleasing to our eyes. It reveals the true beauty of things around us. Our Lord is the Great Artist. He paints the sky with a variety of colors. When the morning comes, we see the cool sky and when the late afternoon comes, we see the beauty of the day. What a wonderful masterpiece made by God to gaze upon.
We remember the good old days of our youth. We remember the highlight of our life like King Solomon: he undertook great projects, built houses, planted vineyards, made gardens and parks. He also made a reservoir to water groves of flourishing trees. He had lots of treasures, gold and silver. He enjoyed his long life given by the Lord. He follows the ways of his heart and whatever his eyes see. But something is lacking, until he found the answer that without God, everything in life is useless.
The author of Ecclesiastes compared the days of man who may live to the days of darkness. What did he mean by that? He means that when a man dies, many days of darkness will follow, like years, decades, or even centuries, and man is not risen from the dark grave. Even a man who did not believe in God experiences darkness, though they are alive, they experience darkness in this world; lots of problems and sins. They conclude that life is very dark. However, this is not the case to the one who believes in God. When we submit our lives to the Lord, every time we wake up, we thank Him because a new day comes for us to experience God in our life. We are happy and joyful because of the grace of God. Even when the believers die, we know the days of darkness are many but we are not bothered by it because we have hope in Christ, that in the proper time, He will raise us up from the grave to be with Him in His heavenly kingdom. So believers, enjoy life with the Lord and fear Him.

Remember
The good old days will come to pass, but if you are walking with God in the days of your youth, you will never regret it because God will always guide you in the right path of life.

Lord, thank You for You have given me the eyes to see Your beauty and see this world to enjoy life.
