Updated: Apr 18, 2022

Scripture Text: Proverbs 3:3-4

Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you;

bind them around your neck;

write them on the tablet of your heart.

So you will find favor and good success

in the sight of God and man.

Proverbs 3:3-4

We adore a person who gets all the favor when he needs it. What is his secret? How about his relationship with others? Maybe he is adorable and loyal to his friends, that is why he always gains favor.

Remember, a person who has wisdom is kind and loyal, and having a great character like this surpasses others because having love and faithfulness or being kind and loyal is from the Lord.

The Lord bestows wisdom to the one He loves, like Daniel. He was faithful to God and was never be afraid on the decree of the king, that anyone who prays to any god or man during the next thirty days, except to King Darius, shall be thrown into the lion's den. But Daniel never gave up his belief, he trusted in the Lord that the He will rescue him. While King Darius could not sleep because he admired Daniel for his faithfulness and love for the living God, he was also worried about Daniel. Daniel was trustworthy and was neither corrupt nor negligent. King Darius, at the first light of the dawn, got up to check Daniel if he was still alive. Then Daniel replied, "My God sent his angel and shut the mouths of the lions because I was found innocent in his sight and had not done any wrong before you, O King Darius."

We see the favor of God in Daniel because he binds the commands of God in his heart to not bow down for any creature or king, but only to the living God of Israel. God Almighty, He is the one to bow down. He gains favor also in man. King Darius hoped that Daniel may prosper greatly so Daniel prospered during the reign of Darius and the reign of Cyrus the Persian.

So Christians, keep in mind that love and faithfulness to God will reward you and you will win favor and good name because others will recognize your wisdom that came from Him. Again, where can we find wisdom? Of course, by reading your Bible. Bible is not merely a good reading but a real help for life.

Therefore, we must apply it to our life and pass it on others. Be willing to obey God's commands, trust them bind them in your heart.

Reflect

1. What is love for you? 2. What is faithfulness for you? 3. Do you have to gain favor from others?

Remember

Keep love and faithfulness into your heart so that you will win favor and good name before God and man.

Read

Daniel 6:1-28; 1 Timothy 2:1-15; 1 Samuel 24:1-22; John 6:16-24

Pray

Lord, I pray for wisdom, especially love and faithfulness, to share it to others and be willing to work for another person's benefit. Thank You Lord for Your blessings that I receive. Always guide me. ln Jesus' Name. Amen.
