Always Remember Our God

Scripture Text: Ecclesiastes 12:6-7

before the silver cord is snapped, or the golden bowl is broken, or the pitcher is shattered at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern, and the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.

Ecclesiastes 12:6-7

Every time you buy a thing to be used in your daily life, are you choosing the best kind? The one that will endure in the long run, durable and heavy duty? Some products used materials that will last, but remember, there is nothing that lasts forever; meaning, all will be worn out until it loses its value for its purpose. The materials like silver and gold are one of the finest materials that can last for a long time, but there comes a time when it will be thoroughly used up and it will be severed and broken. Our life here on earth, even if we live for a hundred years, will become thoroughly tired and weary, we are easily broken. Life is meaningless if we live without God: it leads to meaningless life and despair. That is why we must always remember our God.

In Matthew 11:28, remember the invitation of Christ. He says, "come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and l will give you rest." The rest that Christ gives us is eternal rest, meaning, we will live with our God forever. Life here on earth is very burdensome. Many people live without acknowledging the presence of God who can help them to carry the burden in people's life. They said that life is meaningless, full of misery and despair. Yes, that is right, but when people like us acknowledge God in our midst, life is full of meaning. We learn to love, to serve others, to give generously. We forgive and we know the goodness of God. That is why Jesus Christ always invites us to come to Him, who will protect us, provide for us, and give us rest, help, and peace that the world can never give.

To walk with God in each day of our life is like walking with the hand of God holding our hand and never letting us go astray. He will lead us to the right path of life, to know our purpose in this life. The author of Ecclesiastes always reminds us to remember God because life is very fragile, burdensome, and has lots of worries. When Christ invites us, never ignore Him. Just come to Him and we will see the goodness of our God, the God who will never leave us nor forsake us.

Reflect

1. Do you always remember your Creator?

2. What is your biggest burden?

3. What are your meaningful experiences about God?

Remember

Life is full of misery and loneliness, and others call it meaningless. But when you acknowledge God in your life and put God first, you will know your purpose in life and life after death. We have an amazing God who lives forever.
