The Grace, Our Lord Jesus Christ

Scripture Text: Titus 2:11-15

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age,

Titus 2: 11-12

Living and teaching His truth has been made possible for us only because of the Grace of God which is in Jesus Christ. The emphasis on the grace of our Father is Jesus Christ himself which is the only reason that we are saved, assured, hopeful, and able to live the will of God.

Apostle Paul reminded us to ensure that we can be in line with the truth that Jesus Christ is the grace of God who saved us and enabled us to do His will. We were once lost and are now found by the Lord Jesus Christ. We were once His enemy and now we are seated with Him at His table.

Christians who minister to their local church worship God, serve the church, and make disciples for the Lord Jesus Christ continually, but there might be times that we forget that all of these were made possible only through the goodness and grace of our Father in the Lord Jesus Christ and His perfect sacrifice.

The people who have been truly changed by God with His grace have a different way of thinking of grace compared to a lot of 'Christians' that see this as a power to sin rather than a power against sin.

Jesus Christ had an encounter with the woman who was taken in the act of adultery and He told the woman to sin no more. The woman received grace from the Lord when she was forgiven because when we have been redeemed by God, we are redeemed from the sting of death and the power of sin and death.

Grace teaches us to depart from anything ungodly, which is sin and pushes us to have a life that pleases the Lord. That is the effect of the grace of God. It changes the heart of man from a selfish, corrupted, and self-serving heart to a heart that is centralized in what will please the Lord while waiting for His glorious reappearing to take us with Him and forever be with Him as he reigns over all which is our greatest and only hope.

Apostle Paul wanted us to declare and teach these truths: Jesus Christ is the grace of God who saved us from our sins and from the sting of death and because of that we are empowered to live a life in His will as we patiently wait for His glorious coming where every eye will see Him and declare that He is Lord. This is the truth of His grace.

Reflect

1. Do we realize how powerful the grace of God is or do we still use this as an escape to sin?

2. Do we know and experience the true effect of God's grace? Empowered to do His will?

Remember

The grace of God did not just forgive us of our sins, this made us free from the bondage of sin and reconciled us with Him eternally which is why we are celebrating because we are now His and no one can snatch us from the hand of God. This gives us hope and propels us to do His will.

Pray

I thank You, gracious Father, for Your grace, Jesus Christ, gave me more than just forgiveness, but reconciliation, hope, assurance, relationship, and righteousness in Christ and power to hold fast to what is right. Nothing that is in me is worthy, but it is only in Your grace that I am celebrating because I know that I am Yours. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
