God Offers Comfort to All

Scripture Text: 2 Corinthians 1:3-7

He helps us in all our troubles, so that we are able to help others who have all kinds of troubles, using the same help that we ourselves have received from God.

2 Corinthians 1:4

As we all know that God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort, many think that when God comforts us, our troubles would go away. But if that is always the case, people would just turn to God, only out of a desire to be relieved of pain and not out of love for Him. We must understand that being comforted from our troubles can also mean, (1) we are receiving strength from God the Father, (2) encouragement, and (3) a hope to deal with our troubles.

The more we suffer, the more comfort God gives to us. If you feel that you are in trouble, allow God to comfort you. Remember that in every trial you endure, God will also help you comfort other people who are suffering similar troubles. So even when you are passing through the storm of trials, trust in God and in His words, that He will never leave you nor abandon you. He is always with you.

Reflect

1. What does comforted mean to you?

2. Have you experienced being comforted by God from your troubles?

3. What is the feeling of being comforted?

4. Have you tried comforting other people who are in the same trouble?

Remember

God is our merciful Father and the God of all comfort. As we trust in His unfailing love, He will comfort us with His unconditional love.

Pray

Our merciful, loving Father and source of all comfort, thank You for You have comforted Your servant. Even if I have lots of troubles, trials, and tribulations, You are here for me. Continue to bless all Your servants so that You may be a blessing to those who need to be comforted. In the mighty Name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
