Raised and Seated with Christ through God’s Immeasurable Grace

Scripture Text: Ephesians 2:6-7

and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 2:6-7

It is clearly said in the given passage that: “and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus (vv.6-7)”. The Lord Jesus Christ who was raised up and seated at the right hand of the Father are both historic events and are now the same new reality of those who are made united or one by God, with the Lord. Here, we can immediately see, that what has been said about the Savior can also be said of the saved [Christians]. What once happened to the Lord Jesus Christ will also happen to all believers as well! There will be resurrection in glory in the return of the Lord! When we talk about the present, there is the enjoyment of the ever abiding presence of the Holy Spirit, who works in us a ministry of conforming us in the likeness of the glorious Redeemer, Christ Jesus, the Son of God! This means there is newness of life, a new Spirit-empowered will to walk in the freedom from sin and from the control of Satan.

All of these new realities in the Lord Jesus Christ are grounded in His immeasurable grace! This grace that will take all eternities to fully grasp, will make us wonder from glory to glories, as we see the Lord face to face. And as the riches of God’s grace lavished upon us in Christ Jesus is seen and to be understood as supreme blessedness, it will be all the more made clear that this immeasurable grace is extended for eternally glorifying God – praising and thanking Him for who He is and what He has done.

May your heart, dear saint, be truly captivated by this blessedness that you have in Him, and because of Him! May you find yourself, together with the psalmist, acclaiming, bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits! who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.

Ultimately, the enjoyment of God in Christ is the only joy and happiness with which our souls can be truly and magnificently satisfied.

Desire to know Him more, who has loved you unconditionally and eternally! Thirst and long for Him! Be in awe of Him—the darling of Heaven! He is all yours… He is all-perfect, all-holy, all-glorious!

Hear this then, dear saint: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”

Christ is all that we have! Christ is all that we need!

Take heart, dear saint!

Reflect

1. Do you now see that God’s grace is really sufficient for your Christian life?

2. Do you grow in need of His grace?

3. Do you desire and long to love Him more, as you ought to be?

Remember

Every blessing from God and our Father are means to keep us back to our chief end—to glorify God and enjoy Him forever! Live your life therefore for the praise of His glory, and continue to live out your blessedness in Him!

Pray

Father in Heaven, I come before You once more in the name of Your Son, with a grateful heart, knowing how immeasurable Your grace in Christ that You have bestowed upon me. I pray, Father, with a humble and sincere heart, that I may truly learn more in my life that Your grace is truly sufficient for me. With this same grace, Father, I ask and beg of You, that you train me in righteousness, that I may truly have a Christ-like living, that is so pleasing in Your sight. Thank You again, Father, for I know how undeserving I am to be found united in Your Son, and to be partaker of His coming glory, as Your kingdom comes here on earth, with Him, eternally reigning and dwelling with us. In His name I pray. Amen.
