Scripture Text: Song of Solomon 1:11
We will make for you ornaments of gold, studded with silver.
Song of Solomon 1:11
With the reality of our Christian life, one must keep on beholding intimately the richness of his blessed life in Christ. But the most important reality one must keep on apprehending with his heart and mind, is the reality that Christ loves us so much! He eternally and presently loves us with a grandeur! This is royal love, a love of omnipotence, a love of eternal reigning King – our Lover-Redeemer, Jesus Christ! If one will keep on beholding this truth, he will definitely taste the blessed life of one Christian with his union with Christ! This life lived here on earth is actually the foretaste of what is to come. For our upcoming life is expressed with an indescribable perfection, the summit of the infinite happiness one could ever gain. Remember, we must consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
When the Lord has loved us, it is fixed from past eternity to future eternity. While this love is perfectly manifested in the person and finished work of our Lover-Redeemer, it is being expressed by our Lord in many ways as he holds our whole Christian life with His infinite all-happy love. He loves us with all of His wealth, possessions, gifts, and by His grandeur! Having this then results only to what the daughters of Jerusalem has echoed in their part in the poem. “We will make for you ornaments of gold, studded with silver” (v.11); This shows how greatly they responded to the example set by the Beloved. His treatment of the maiden made them want to be somewhat extravagant in honoring them. This is but a result of the love of our Lover-Redeemer had for us from the beginning of past eternity, to future eternity. We will be dressed with royalty, namely His graces, righteousness, love and even His excellencies, the product of this royal eternal love of the King.
Being loved by the Lord Jesus Christ is not just being peculiarly loved eternally in the far future! He loves us presently and actively with grandeur, and He treats us moment by moment with His all-sweet, all-happy yet majestic love! So think of our present situation right now how safe we are in His heart—to the place where we truly belong! It is where we are heading! And this reality is unchangeable! Always set your mind with this truth, for this is our reality in Christ Jesus. His beauties and excellencies are what will satisfy us here and hereafter. His love is just the same as His infinite beauties that the whole creation rejoices with!
No need to worry then, dear saint! Take hold of His eternal love – present and active, with such grandeur! As we have learned before, and so as we learn continuously, who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us! For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord!
The real believer’s heart is awakened to perceive the wonders of God in the person of our Lover-Redeemer, Jesus Christ! From there, we learn to enthusiastically acclaim, oh taste and see that the LORD is good!
He who does not want to know more of Him, knows nothing of Him yet…
Hear this then, dear saint! All the paths of the LORD are steadfast love and faithfulness, for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.
Desire communion with Him, who has loved us eternally! Thirst and long for Him! Be in awe of Him – the darling of Heaven! He is all yours… He is all-perfect, all-holy, all-glorious and all-happy! Be exceedingly joyous in being His beloved. If you have truly seen Him, then He is your exceeding joy.
Nobody loves you like He does…
Christ is all that we have! Christ is all that we need!
Take heart, dear saint!
Reflect
1. Do you see and entrust every part of your Christian life eternally secured in the love of Christ?
2. Are you continuously beholding and perceiving the grandeur of His eternal and present active love for you?
3. Do you desire and long to love Him more, as you ought to be?
Remember
The love of God at the expense of Christ Jesus is the greatest treasure, satisfaction and blessing that we will want to enjoy now and forever.

Pray
Father, we come to You in prayer again, to humbly, and desperately ask of You one thing, that You grant us a greater beholding of this fixed eternal and present love of our Lover-Redeemer has for us. Make us see with our hearts with a pure joy that this love is with such grandeur, that we may be satisfied in Him and in His love for us. And by being satisfied with it, make us not forget that He is what we need throughout this day, and in our whole Christian life. Remind us through Him, through His promises and words, that He is our destination. This we pray, in His Name. Amen.
